This image is titled “M” it was drawn in the early part of 2008 as part of a first year design project for the class titled Design 101. M was drawn by Jeremy Short and was quite successful in gaining an A for the project it was a part of. The main idea of the project was to create a very short film composed entirely of text only, the picture M was one of the side projects of this main project where it was required of the students to take a letter from their one word film and create a 3D image of the letter in perspective, plan and elevation views with some shadows added. Techniques included hatching, shading and different uses of line weights to create the overall effect desired. I chose this image because over all it was one of my most successful pieces of work I have produced in university so far. Also the amount of time and effort I put into this particular project was, not unlike everything I have produced, quite a lot. So I feel that, for the amount of time spent and the final grade, this project was very successful.
